A work that traces my uncle's domestic environment, a retired Greco-Roman Olympian living in a sinking house built atop a decommissioned landfill in Denmark. In wrestling, the distance between a body and the ground is the difference between victory or defeat.

David and Carolyn Brooks and friends. At Martha’s Vineyard, on NYC bus, shooting at the beach, etc (Part One). Walking in woods, at picnic, in VW bus, etc (Part Two). At Tibetan seminar, prison, Chandler Moore’s house, etc (Part Three). “Was going to tape Carolyn and my first conversation in about 5 months of no contact. Show true love (whatever that is). Couldn’t do it. Chickened out. Didn’t want to get something between us. (Carolyn, what’s come between us?). Film sequence, love: single frame printing, break colors into basic three (in the order of red, green, blue) and A/B roll to create ‘well-known symetry’ and to lighten frame (AB brightens, bi-pack darkens) / Binarius is the devil / ah, love / one flesh / let no man put asunder.” - David Brooks

On the bus, listen to the noises of the daily commute until they become sounds.
Then, read Tagore's poem, the one where he is brutally reminded of compassion, empathy, fraternity. So that blurry and indistinct faces in the same bus become sharp again.

Disrupting binaries of identity, Mammmmmmmywata represents a hybrid identity, personifying a culture of mixedness, rooted in both miscegenation and love. She has landed in Scotland, appearing in videos, encouraging us to get WOKE, advertising her powers to decolonize from within and demanding REPARATIONS NOW... The convenient amnesia of Scotland in disavowing its role within the slave trade is a significant cause for concern, necessitating a demand for reparations, #BITCH BETTER HAVE MY MONEY. This amnesia is a systematic form of oppression, which promotes and maintains institutional racism, gifting privilege and denying access to the Other. It is time to wake up. This is real. Got to get WOKE. Decolonization is coming…

A voice not addressed and thrown away is assimilated to a bunch of microphones under the sea. The artwork throws an ambivalent question to the audience – striving to listen to the singing voice drifting on the wave and the mind of resignation that it won’t reach to anyone.

Leaning over a fence surrounding a U.S. military base, a woman is happily eating ice cream someone gave her. Those who know the status quo of Okinawa will realise that the ice cream symbolises both a promotion policy in compensation for the accepted bases and an image of tourism unilaterally imposed. The filmmaker herself plays the role of the woman who plays the role of (the people in) Okinawa itself (themselves) relying on such realities. Through simulationism, the film embodies the present tense of the local culture’s disappearance, transformation into tourist attractions and rapid homogenisation.
