The great Mark Rakita is rightfully considered the father of the Russian sabre. One of Russia's most decorated fencers, he won his first Olympic gold back in Tokyo in 1964, and the second in Mexico City in 1968. In addition, he is a six-time world champion, a five-time European champion and a three-time USSR champion. Mark Rakita is also a great fencing coach and teacher, and it's not for nothing that he was awarded the title of Honored Coach of the USSR: he trained Olympic champions Viktor Krovopuskov and Mikhail Burtsev, as well as three—time world champion Sergei Koryazhkin. Rakita was feared because he was considered the smartest saber player on the globe and won not at the expense of strength, but at the expense of intelligence. Today Mark Rakita is 87, but he is still in the ranks – he is chairman of the Council of Elders and chairman of the Coaching Council of the Russian Fencing Federation.

Kasey Kei and her girlfriend Lulu Chu are both wearing cozy fleece pajamas and wool socks, but they're still shivering as they huddle together. Kasey says it's terrible timing that their electric heating broke down on such a FREEZING day. Lulu agrees, especially since it'll be at least a few more hours before the technician can get there to take a look at it! Kasey suggests that they try lighting their fireplace, they've been keeping it well-maintained even though they haven't used it in ages, so hopefully that dedication will pay off. The couple hurries off to light the fire, throw down some rugs, and get nice and cozy. As they happily curl up to bask in each other's body heat, Lulu says this feels SO nice, and she could stay like this forever. Kasey playfully and suggestively says ‘Are you sure? Because I know a way we can get even WARMER…' Lulu smiles eagerly as they lovingly embrace, turning up the heat a notch!

The film shows the quiet life of the old woman on the outskirts of the village, immersing the viewer in the life of the heroine and the surrounding nature. The film pulls the cine-goer into its rhythm, like falling snow outside the window, like the sound of a train passing by, like the silence of the corridors.

"A coastal sand dune is transformed and reshaped into digital ether. The film focuses closely on sand as a material, which is composed of silica, the mineral that is a primary ingredient in manufacturing silicon chips, lenses, binoculars, microscopes, and mirrors—devices that extend our vision. The film uses these devices to visually capture the sand dune and evoke the transformation of materials that goes into their production. Through 16mm analog techniques, the elemental forces of a sand dune merge with the physical properties of the celluloid." (TP) Commissioned for Canyon Cinema's Print Generations project.

Souvenirs of souvenirs. Souvenir statuettes were animated in real spaces with a custom-made augmented-reality application. Whether they be cast from a mold, or 3D-scanned and propagated online, souvenir statuettes aim for virality. Some of the quasi-objects in this video were once objects; others are non-objects or computer model imaginaries.

The heroes of the film are the people of Kiev, who have not lost their zest for life: they cook shashlik in their courtyards by candlelight and dance to the sound of generators. We see shelters in maternity wards and pregnant women ready to give birth as sirens wail. A story of incredible resilience and light that shines brightest in the darkest times, uniting different cultures in a common cause.
