Another imagined adventure following Nanny Lynn’s recurring Teddy Bear character, this iteration features striking abstracted splashes and morphed flight. It’s among the darker pieces that Ochberg created, with Disney-like crooked branches and untoward animal behavior.

A fairytale for Ochberg’s grandchildren, Dylan and Jake, the boys imagine an original world to explore using their new crayons. The detailed backgrounds of the forest evoke Ochberg’s still work and embroidery. Each pixel is woven like thread, creating lush tapestry-like environments for the protagonists to get lost in.

And with no recovery in sight, a soap opera offered Finns a respite from the grim reality; the debut of The Bold and the Beautiful on television quickly amassed a vast and dedicated following, whereas the arrival of American idols in the country, on tour, elicited unprecedented frenzy.

‘The Bridge’ follows a young woman who hears a mysterious phone ringing in the forest and follows it into a surreal world, where inspiration resides but cannot manifest. It is a meditation on the creative act as a passage between fantasy and reality; a concept I was very much in touch with throughout the process of manifesting this film.

Volta Redonda is a Brazilian steel town surrounded by a tropical forest. The city's economy, and consequently its citizens' lives, revolve around the Companha Siderurgica Nacional (CSN), the biggest steel mill in Latin America. Steel Town, a long-form HD video, will focus on working-class life in Volta Redonda, building a critical dialogue between art, popular television and politics. The idea for the film arose out of Martin's conversations with anthropologist Massimiliano ('Mao') Mollona, a specialist in labour issues and visual anthropology who conducted eight months of fieldwork in Volta Redonda.
