Poster for Plaza Concrète

2016 · ★ 0.0 (0)

Mixing analog and digital technologies, ‘Plaza Concrète’ is a series of hallways generated by electronic signals. Unfolding inside melting architectures, the space depicted is reminiscent of the malleable nature of the video image and manifests the tension between matter and electricity through constant shifts of perspectives.

Poster for Visites Possibles

2014 · ★ 0.0 (0)

Visites Possibles explores the possibilities of creating 3D environments based on video images generated by electronic signals. Inspired by architectural renderings and the idea of virtual tour, the video invites the viewer to visit its structure through specific parameters. Throughout the visit, "entities" arise and disappear regularly as if haunting this virtual environment. Visites Possibles also acts as a transitory space where multiple doors open on potential virtual experiences.

Poster for Horse Boobs

2017 · ★ 6.0 (1)

Pferdebusen (Horse Boobs) is the fifth part of a series based on Arthur Schnitzler’s Dream Story. In the text, Katrina Daschner is interested in the ambiguity of fiction and reality, and the tension of unrealized sexual desires. She deconstructs this framework in her development of queer relationship scenarios. In Pferdebusen the filmmaker masterfully succeeds in staging the ruptures and irritations that are so essential for showing and wanting, with subtle humour and grandiose human and non-human actors.

The fall into a deep internal processing of one’s past becomes a repetitive act on the verge of over analysis, revealing and breaking down layers. Submerged in the gravity of life changes one is pushed to step forward to a free fall. Yielding control, sharing visions of a present experience, the journey becomes an aesthetic release from formality, a lightness of being.

A series of terrible dreams unhinge a man in power. The Rancher is a parafictional newsreel film featuring an anonymous president during wartime. The reworked footage, sampled from newsreels about Lyndon Baines Johnson, presents a more fraught portrait of the daily life of this archetypical president. As he escalates military involvement, the president is plagued by terrible dreams that result in the unraveling of public opinion about the war. The narrative of The Rancher largely parallels LBJ’s administration as well as ones from more recent history.
