1925. International Art Exhibition in Paris. The chief architect of the European avant–garde, Le Corbusier, declares: "... the only thing that deserves attention is the Konstantin Melnikov pavilion." Since then, the whole world has been following the fate of the Soviet architect. He designs Lenin's sarcophagus, builds garages and clubs, but, most importantly, creates his own house. The house that would become the pinnacle of his work, and later a prison for the author himself. The architect's career will end with his student, who gave him a ban on the profession. And all subsequent projects will remain on paper. What did the architect-star of the Russian avant-garde leave behind? About this in the documentary "Melnikov".

Faith is part of a set of cinematic tarot cards in which we collaborate with the subjects to create layered vignettes infused with personal symbolism. By choosing costumes, objects, actions and locations that represent their own visions, the stars of these films bring forth what they want to manifest mythically and physically within their lives. Inspired by their particular choices and personalities, we collaborate throughout the shoot, double-exposing each roll of film as a toss of the alchemical I ching while adding a spectral layer. Sealed into the receptive emulsion, these layered iconographies are then awakened with the projection of light and witnessed by those who may recognize parts of their own dreams.

What affects me most powerfully: mourning in layers – a kind of sclerosis. Roland Barthes, Mourning Diary Inspired by Roland Barthes’ Mourning Diary, the film attempts to measure grief and consciousness in the pandemic through images and monthly recorded notes. The images were recorded entirely in the summer of 2020, while the text stacks together several years. The simple naming and showing of events exposes the banality of grief, but hopefully also the significance.

"I can't believe that I have to start every day from a state so feverish, full of intentions, even before doing anything." Fragments of a performer's body and movements that comes from an interior state of feeling: indistinct state of langor before standing up, before dancing, before going on stage... The need of a condition in which you are just thinking, with an empty mind. Needing space, needing silence, needing to calm down (going back to sleep, damn!).
