Tethered to one another by a rope, two figures standing on parallel escalators perform five ways of being together—“against each other,” “with each other,” “to each other,” “for each other,” and “each other”—challenging expectations of how people can and should coexist in public space.

The more peace is celebrated in the official propaganda, the more likely another armed conflict is. The "Peace will win" slogan, popularized after World War II, in fact masked the increasing risk of the Cold War.

An unfinished film about a reckless water sprite and his jealous wife.
Mum the water sprite rocks the little water sprites in a pond while the philandering dad water sprite enjoys himself with undines on the shore, playing love songs to a willow-tree fairy on his mandolin. The mum catches her husband doing this and forces him to return to the pond, back to his family, with slaps on his head.
The film was not finished and submitted for censorship. The surviving negative did not contain any opening titles. The attribution of the title is only ex post and the year of production was estimated.

An exhilarating breakdown of some of history's most decisive battles. With expert analysis and eyewitness accounts examining the strategy behind the chaos of the war. From the start of the First World War in 1914, Germany pursued a highly effective U-boat campaign against merchant shipping. This campaign intensified over the course of the war and almost succeeded in bringing Britain to its knees in 1917. On 4 February 1915, Germany declared a war zone around Britain, within which merchant ships were sunk without warning. This 'unrestricted submarine warfare' angered neutral countries, especially the United States. After failing to seize control of the sea from the British at the Battle of Jutland in 1916, Germany resumed unrestricted submarine warfare on February 1st, 1917. On April 23rd, 1918, British naval forces attacked U-boat bases at Ostend and Zeebrugge. By the Armistice, the U-boat threat had been neutralised.

Guided by the text “Persuasive Fictions” by Marilyn Strathern, the film proposes a reflection on anthropology, its disputes and criticisms, throughout its history and consolidation as a science in the 20th and 21st centuries. This short film uses excerpts from Brazilian filmography and is willing to reflect on the construction of narratives.

Long before Kim Gordon was a cooler-than-thou multimedia artist in Body/Head, she was a cooler-than-thou multimedia artist in Sonic Youth. In the ’80s, Gordon and her bandmates were fixtures of New York’s downtown art and music scene; one regular haunt of theirs was legendary nightclub Danceteria, which served as the setting for a short film Gordon made sometime around 1985. Now, as Dangerous Minds points out, said video has surfaced online thanks to filmmaker/designer Chris Habib (a.k.a. Visitor Design). “Excellent video I found in my Sonic Youth archive,” Habib writes on the clip’s Vimeo page. “I digitized it for Kim during her [early 2000s] CLUB IN THE SHADOWS exhibition at Kenny Schachter’s old space in the West Village.”

In Emelie Mahdavian's After the Curtain, four female dancers battle shifting cultural norms and face increasing disfavor in the Post-Soviet, predominantly Muslim nation of Tajikistan. The women weigh their love of art against economic hardship, loneliness, and social reproach in this intimate portrait, which also celebrates the rich dance and music culture of a Central Asian country largely unknown in the West.
