A cinematic collaboration between young Israeli and Palestinian filmmakers, who together created a series of short films. Coffee takes part in our cultural identity, it is shared by all individuals in terms of our daily routine and pastes different people together, no matter who they are. Includes two documentaries and two fiction films made by Palestinian filmmakers, and four fiction films made by Israeli filmmakers. Each of the films gives a personal and courageous point of view on the reality in which we live in.

Film shows the present state of China through twelve platforms, an old farmer, a middle aged waitress, a car washer, a weapons dealer, fish store owners, a barber, a factory owner, a park ranger, a shopping mall employee, etc. These various faces of the so-called proletarian class ask, what is a dream? Answers to this question exist in the interview with each character, but is conveyed much more clearly through the black and white image of the children putting up their future as security as shots are heard continually behind them.

“I keep returning to Hi-8 videotape my father shot in the winter of 1995/6, that until a month ago, I did not know even existed. The tape had been lying dormant in a box with the camera he had bought. ‘Today is the 25th December 1995.’ I am looking at the house we grew up in; it is covered with snow. My father has walked part way up the hill; he continually comments on the scene but the tape has degraded so it’s difficult to catch exactly what he says - every time I view the footage I glean a different meaning. I have been a servant to the video.
