Poster for Real life

"The quarantine of 2020 was a big surprise for everyone. Milena, a film student is locked in her parents' house. She is not allowed to travel, so she is forced to spend the quarantine and the Easter holidays alone. The situation with the corona virus makes her feel alone and imprisoned, while her dreams, goals and life are postponed along with the end of the lock down, so she chooses to spend her time, continuing her life inside a video game, while time around her he passes, without her. It is a documentary-self-portrait that has characteristics of a quarantine diary. In the film we see Milena learning to cook, continuing her distance learning and the resurrection from her balcony. The two realities: that of the game and the quarantine get confused and one seems more real than the other. "

Drawing on the filmmaker's own experiences of insomnia, this nocturnal transmission looks at outer space through the X-ray specs of (un)consciousness. The night sky and the mind's eye have more in common than you'd ever dream—friction points and connecting dots that form constellations of avian images, clusters of Ambien text, galaxies of work worry and sleep debt.

Poster for Neapolitan Songs

1970 · ★ 0.0 (0)

A mixture of abstract images and, as if out of a Man Ray painting, a large mouth in the foreground with red lipstick slowly devours a raw liver and then goes on to eat a postcard. Meanwhile, romantic Neapolitan songs play in the background. As Andrea Giunta says: At the same time they function as a hyperbole of the feminine in a register impregnated with pop aesthetics (they are perfect lips and make-up), but in which the flesh introduces an element of deep transgression, with scatological tensions.

Mary of Nazarene is one of the most popular female figures of our world's history. When feminist filmmaker and non-believer Nouchka van Brakel saw a painting of Mary, on which she was told that she would give birth to the Messiah, she was struck by Mary's rather reserved expression. Instead of happiness or humble devotion, the look on her face was doubtful. This fascinated Nouchka van Brakel, and led her to make AVE MARIA, a documentary on the one hand about this mythical, particularly beloved woman and on the other hand about her worshippers who make her Queen of Heaven. AVE MARIA portrays the untameable longing of mankind for the Mother of all mothers; from Virgin Mary, to Mother of the Son of God, to Lady of All Nations, to Queen of Heaven. What powerful emotions drive those devoted to Mary? Journeys to Turkey, Poland, Spain and The Netherlands gradually reveal the mystery.... A fascinating quest.
