"Shot vertically and intended to be shown on a video monitor turned on its side, the video May Windows (1976) is a component of the Mirage performance and installations, as well as the related installation Cones/May Windows (After Mirage) II (1976/2014). May Windows features two tall white cones, barely decipherable in the heightened contrast of the black-and-white video that examines changes in sound and light from Jonas’s home studio. Though the video is purposefully so overexposed that the picture plane becomes void of depth, Jonas nonetheless makes space legible through sound. Jonas whistles while walking around the space, and opens and closes the windows, modulating the sound of the street outside. At another point during the video, James Nares and Jonas vocalize into metal cones. [/] —BC and KP" —The Joan Jonas Knowledge Base

Gulosus (the glutton), is an alluring yet disturbing view of gluttony in contemporary culture. The film is in stop motion, with one photo being taken every 6 seconds, and contains over 130 individual sound effects and foley sounds. The piece draws from the compositions of traditional vanitas paintings and photography. It was also heavily influenced by a genre of youtube called 'Mukbang' (korean for 'eating show'), where people consume mass amounts of unhealthy and idealistic foods for viewers to watch. All of these elements came together to form an opinion on greed and vanity through a relatable but confronting menu. Recognizable among a thousand, Commissioner Maigret is creating this winter's cinematic event. After Jean Gabin or Bruno Crémer, it is Gérard Depardieu who embodies the iconic character of George Simenon, inspired by a real police officer. Vidocq, Borniche, Bertillon, the great cops are an inexhaustible source of creation for artists. Delon and Belmondo have built their careers on the figure of the cop. However, his image is blurred by police violence and desacralized by the protest song.

“I want to talk to you,” says a female voice, over a close-up of the speaker’s resolute face. And so begins the story of 58-year-old Mothiba Grace Bapela, a Black South African woman who, like many others, has had a tough life. Early on in One Take Grace we see Bapela cleaning a toilet in somebody’s house. It’s a significant scene, because she’s always worked in the service of other people. She rarely saw her own children, who were raised by her mother. When she was able to, she pursued a career as an actor.
