No hay olvido, composed of three parts, each directed by a young Chilean filmmaker forced to flee his country, is about the difficult condition of exiles in a specific political and social context, in this case, Quebec. The first part, entitled J'explique certaines choses, is in Spanish with French subtitles, and shows us more precisely the lifestyle of a group of Chileans. In Slowly, which forms the second part, we are asked, through Lucia, a young Chilean exile, the problem of integration into a new social environment. Finally, Jours de fer (Steel Blues), the third and only part available in English, is a cruel reminder of the harsh condition of the uprooted man who must find work at all costs to ensure his survival.

Do you want to be in a documentary? A bunch of Englishmen have turned up at the casting for a film that turns out to be the one we are sitting and watching. A mixed gallery of characters, who paradoxically are hoping to be cast in the roles of themselves. 'I was Here' is a social experiment with brains, a heart and underplayed humour. The many attendees are as diverse as people are in the real world. Young and old, funny and bitter, self-confident and nervous - what are they hoping to find by taking part in a film? The obvious answer is the simplest one: themselves. We look on from the other side of the camera, as they take part in the experiment. The contradiction between authenticity and performance is not just a question of identity. It is also one of the basic conflicts of modern documentary filmmaking, which Ola Jankowska and Nathalie Bianchieri turn into both a premise and a method.

In 2016, director Charlotte Røhder Tvedt sent out an open call for people all across Norway to document their world in the form of a film clip. More than 900 entries were submitted and from these contributions, Røhder Tvedt assembled a collage of beautiful everyday moments, personal confessions and kinetic bursts of dance and movement. As the film cycles through expressions of love, loneliness, joy and sorrow, patterns and connections appear and it becomes clear that Between Us is a film about how we relate to one another.

The Marina Experiment' is the result of over 10,000 photographs, super 8 home footage and reel to reel audiotape interrogations that director Marina Lutz's father made of her during her upper class upbringing in 1960s and 1970s Manhattan. A both eerie and infinitely fascinating archive that she herself has now sorted out and reassembled. Her father's transgressive voyeurism is turned against himself, while a courageous self portrait simultaneously grows out of the almost incestuously intimate 'home movies'. The result is a family exposé that can't be shaken off that easily, and which in an intelligent and absolutely unique way raises the question about the right to not be seen - a question that has become even more relevant in the present day.
