In 1976, Maria Klonaris and Katerina Thomadaki direct with the Collectif 010 in La Cartoucherie in Vincennes a 48-hour action, Torture, which is recorded on tape by Jean Roualdès. In 2012, after the digitization of the original video tapes by the Bibliothèque Nationale of France for the Klonaris/Thomadaki Archive, the two artists proceed to a reinterpretation of this document, highlighting the characteristics of the 1/2-inch video format. This video is a trace of a public performance, where bodies, even under constraint, blinded and gagged, manifest their protest power against coercion. This performance against torture is one of the first examples of the art of the body theorized by the two artists.

Death Valley is recognised as the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere and one of the hottst places on earth. The rocks tell a story of endless changes in the earth’s crust - vast depositions, contortions, alternate risings and lowerings, faultings, intense heats and pressures. It is here director Sam Taylor-Wood and cinematographer Seamus McGarvey chose to frame the ‘Death Valley’. The story of a man exploring the experience of self-stimulation, pleasuring, the erotic satisfaction and possibilities with oneself.

Through my window-camera, during urban adventures, views of Algiers, where, as a child, after Algerian Independence, I learned about liberty, and which some decades later after immigrating against my will and deliberately becoming an exile, I chose as my city. I was then a "wife of the Republic of Madagascar," as the left-hand side page of my passport noted, while the right-hand side declared "of the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary." Disembodied, words off-screen, intervening one over the other, simultaneous encounters of polyphonic voices glide.

Pamela Mason Wagner produced this in-depth look at the life of Saint Francis, whose legacy lives on in the hearts of countless Catholics. Set in his native Umbria, Italy, the film details the events and influences that made him who he was.
